I keep journals full of stream of thought writing. And I promised myself not to read them until at least six months have passed. I realized when I first began to sift through them, that they were full of some pretty deep and brilliant insights. These insights would just come in a moment, unexpectedly after at least a page and a half of complete mumbo-jumbo, (i.e. Talking about how much my hand hurts, or complaining about something completely ridiculous.) But when it came to the insightful moments, they would move me to tears. They were right to the core of who I was being in the moment. And reading it back allowed me to free up space in my mind that was previously consumed by something I might describe as a heavy emotional weight. I thought, “How cool would it be? If I picked through each day of my life and shared those parts.” Tonight I’m making a commitment to do just that, in the hopes it may help someone along in their journey. It will be worth it to me, even if it can inspire one person to start expressing themselves with more freedom. We need more meaningful communication and connection in the world, and fewer memes. Somewhere along the line, I feel we totally lost the purpose of social media. I invite you all to share what it is to be human and to appreciate each others experience.
